I have just moved into the Congleton area - other than whitehead farm does anyone know of any other areas to practice. My daughter has just started and Whitehead is too advanced.

If you don't mind travelling a bit, Hermitage Farm @ Ipstones (between Leek & Cheadle) might be suitable for both you & your daughter for practice. Open long grassland, stony paths, etc etc.. Friendly farmer (Darren) & always willing to help. Direction from Leek to Ipstones, go through Ipstones & about 0.5 mile towards Cheadle. Turn right into the farm buildings & pay £5/bike/day @ reception.

Chaz was asking about practice areas for his daughter. I know you have mentioned Whitemoor farm in Biddulph as being too advanced for your daughter, but have you really had a good look around. I would have said that this site is ideally suited for a complete beginner. If you park up then follow the path to the right (towards Congleton) you will come across a gently undulating piece of ground, you will find this a perfect place to start, and the farm is probably the closest to your doorstep. Give it another try!
